It’s Wednesday and there’s only 16 days left till Maritime DevCon! Did you get your ticket yet? If you’ve already done that, let’s meet another speaker who also happens to be a Maritime DevCon speaking alumni. Meet Andrew Burke.

Andrew Burke is an independent software developer, speaker, educator, and occasional entrepreneur from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Andrew is a technology and culture “amphibian”, with over twenty years of software development experience as well as an M.A. in English Literature.

So , if you were a programming language or technology, which one would you be and why?

I wish I was an elegant refined language like Ruby, but I’m really more of an inconsistent mess like JavaScript.

What do you like best about Maritime DevCon?

It’s great to have a developer conference that I can get to without flying!

Why do you feel your session, Bloomsday On Your Device: James Joyce’s Ulysses and Mobile Tech, will bring value to Maritime DevCon attendees?

It will provide a bridge between the worlds of software development and literature, technology and art. Since Maritime DevCon will be taking place ON Bloomsday, the events covered in the talk will be happening in Halifax DURING the talk. It will be a unique chance to share in something happening in real time. This talk will expand attendees’ horizons and hopefully blow some minds along the way.

What is the key take away attendees will get from your session?

Modern mobile technology can bring life and meaning to old books.

Thank you in advance for joining us for Maritime DevCon 2018 Andrew!
