We are slowly getting closer to the day we’ve all been looking forward to and don’t forget to get your tickets before June 8th to take advantage of regular admission price. After you’ve gotten your ticket, get to know another one of our speakers. Meet Ron Smith.

Ron Smith is the founder of Chalder Consulting, a consultancy offering IT advisory, project management, and business analyst services. He is a husband and father based in New Brunswick, Canada.

Ron is also the co-host of Ardent Development, a podcast dedicated to interviewing practitioners and thought leaders in the world of software development.

So , if you were a programming language or technology, which one would you be and why?

I’ve written a rap song for you. Sung with the Vanila ice music by a slightly overweight IT Project Man-a-ger…

I go from BASIC to C# in a heartbeat. I speak silky smooth until I GIT my LISP out. I like to Share my Points cuz I love to collaborate. Teradata Oracle SQL Server myS-Q-L Can’t hold me back cuz I’m getting my ANSI SQL going.

Corny I know – but I don’t really code anymore… I just run IT projects and hang with cool techies in the process.

What do you like best about Maritime DevCon?

Cool place to meet people and hear about new tech.

Why do you feel your session, Rockstar Estimation Skills, will bring value to Maritime DevCon attendees?

I will clarify why there is a GAP between IT development estimates and give you tools to unlock the process. It is rare that Developers and others in IT have a lot of training in Estimation. Also – companies are estimating in different ways.

What is the key take away attendees will get from your session?

Goal: To increase Estimation IQ

Thank you in advance for joining us for Maritime DevCon 2018 Ron!
